Andreas researchers. Confirmations

Please see my reply to Paul Wade's question, below, which gives an example of how Andreas Confirmations can help fill the gap in the Andreas parish register of most records between about July 1685 and 1704. These confirmations did not apply only to Andreas residents, and there are several examples of people from other parishes being confirmed there. They are not in date order in the filmed copy of the parish register, and are in blocks scattered between bapts, marriages, and burials.

Brian Lawson compiled an index to the confirmations and included ages, but not the father or guardian's name and residence, or other details which were sometimes given.
In his index Brian missed the first confirmations near the beginning of the parish register which I have found are of most use to replace the missing baptisms in the register. I have fully transcribed these first pages from 1718 up to 17 Oct.1725 which was the date which Brian’s index started. This transcript is currently at: lawsonsiom.freevar.com/docs/Andreas_missing_confirmations.pdf

I have not included 27 May 1772; 12 August 1774; 1778; and 25 Oct.1780 which followed 1719/20 (and which were also missed by Brian), because they were mainly just lists of names with few added details. However I am happy to look these up for anyone, and also to check for additional details on the ones indexed by Brian (see these on Ian Radcliffe’s website: lawsonsiom.freevar.com/Andreas_confirmations/and_cindex.html).

I have also started to add the additional information, when given, to Brian's index. CHRISTIAN is here: lawsonsiom.freevar.com/docs/Christian_confirmations2.pdf

I intend to gradually add the extra information for the other surnames, so if there are any Andreas researchers who have a particular name they would like me do first please let me know here.
