I was lucky enough to find Frances' entry in the Manx Notebook before, however, I also came across a reference when searching of someone who had built up a lot of knowledge of the actual rescue of the St George - who was in the lifeboat at the time.

There is a belief in my family that my great great grandfather was on board, but this can't be right as he wasn't born until 1867, nor was my g-g-g-grandfather as he was born in 1833 so was only about 6 at the time of the rescue.

I wondered if it was one generation back again .... or simply family myth - so was trying to trace the crew list.
