Re: Clarifying Ballajora Corkills
In Response To: Clarifying Ballajora Corkills ()

Hello Rick,

There are numerous branches in the Ballajora Corkill family, and although your Daniel does indeed appear to "fit" where you have him, it would probably be helpful to double-check by looking at this will which looks like Isabella's.
You can order these to view through any Family History Centre using the 010 film number below. For FHCs see "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" in the local phone book - everyone welcome.

[1841 census] Ballajorey Isabella CORKILL 43 Isle of Man [?Burial: Isabella CORKILL 80 yrs The Quay, Ramsey Feb 27 1878]
If so, her will: CORKILL, Isabell 1878 Ram A 97 0106486
There was more than one possible burial for her husband William.

Philip probably told you that Isabel Joughin, Rhenabb, was baptised in 1797. Her parents were Robert Joughin (1758-1844) and Jane Kneale (ca 1772-1855). This Robert was the eldest of eleven brothers and sister.

There is a long thread about the Ballajora Corkills in the BB archives from 2005.

I'd be interested to see what you find in Isabella's will. They often refer to children who have left the IOM.
