Re: Frances Georgina Lace
In Response To: Re: Frances Georgina Lace ()

Hi Fiona,

That's amazing! I'd actually got William James Lace down, but as he wasn't living with the family at the time of the 1881 Census, I left his destiny blank. I'd love for the gap to be filled! I have quite a lot of info. on some of the other siblings - there were quite a few that died within a short period of time of each other. I'm hoping they might all be buried in St. Mark's if I ever get to the IoM!

Frances Georgina had one daughter when she just 16 (unmarried), that child Martha is my direct descendent. Since Jeans amazingly helpful post I managed to get the info on the birth of Frances Elizabeth who was born on 23rd April 1887, baptised on 5th May 1887.

Tragically as Jean mentions, Frances Georgina died on the 1st July 1887 and was buried 2 days later. Even more sadly, Frances Elizabeth then died in March 1888 aged 11 months. I haven't found out what happened to Robert Cubbon yet.

My ancestor Martha Lace lived with her grandparents (Frances Georgina's parents) so that would be our first direct ancestor link. William Lace and Frances Gell are my great-great-great-great grandparents.

Going back from Frances Georgina, I've managed to trace her parents (William Lace and Frances Gell) and maternal grandparents (William Gell and Ann Ellison), although I only have the name of 3 of their children and rough dates of birth.

I would love to share family history - that's so exciting!!!

Thank you so much for getting in touch.

Best wishes

Coral
