That was what they told us. But now that I have the records the boys were taken by a constable and delivered to the orphanage for their health and well-being. The boys were looked after when they got to Canada but it must have been very traumatic for them as they were 10 and 7 yrs old. I hope money was not exchanged but times were different back then.
