Sorry to be a dead loss on both the Looney and Joughin sides to this enquiry. If interest in Dorothy’s Joughin forbears arises, I will look again.

Meanwhile I have today made a larger contribution to the other Looney discussion.

As for Ramsey parish registers, you would be talking about St. Paul’s South Ramsey. That is in the Market Square and has no churchyard, so any burials would relate to Ballure chapel. They conducted baptisms and marriages at St. Paul’s, but the true parish church for South Ramsey was Maughold, and that is where the majority of such ceremonies were held. The smaller Northern part of Ramsey was in Lezayre parish. Nowadays it is covered by St. Olave’s.

There was another Joughin enquiry in this thread, about Jane, who was buried at Maughold 1801 March 16. She was baptised at Maughold 1799 April 17, daughter of Robert Joughin, Rhenab, and Jane Kneale. Robert’s youngest sister Alice was my 3-greats-grandmother. I have quite a lot on this family.
