Thank you Frances. I have come across this reference before. Also have found Euan married Letitia June TAYLOR, 22 Oct 1823 at Gretna Green, Scotland. This has dau Jane Anne Christened 19 Aug 1824. ( and there is another referring wife as Jane TAYLOR.) I originally had Catherine as mother for Jane Ann GILL. Marriage of Daniel and Jane Ann have witnesses as Thomas TEARE, John Hampton Radcliffe (bro) and John Radcliffe snr (Parish clerk) What were the duties of a Parish clerk?
Also kids of Jane Ann and Daniel RADCLIFFE , great g't g/fthr, vary, Have Ann Elizabeth (1848-); Daniel Hampton (1851-); FREDERICK (1852-1928) my great grandfather. Possible additional kids = Anna (1849-1921); Allan (1850-); Alice; Charles; Sophia (1868-) from census.
Do you think any of above is correct path to take?
All I know is I'm stuck, can't go any further without tracing parents of Jane Ann. I need to win lottery so I can come visit and explore more. The thought of visiting UK , Manx etc is extraordinarily exciting, here's hoping!!
Meanwhile I rely on the good graces of you all. I still am amazed at the levbel of knowledge you and others in forum have.
Cheers
Kindest regards
Barbara
