Frances - thanks for this. I've seen a couple places where the "old" (presumably outgoing) Moar or Coroner are named and these names corresponded to those given in the setting quest juries. Perhaps I may be able to find a fuller list of the names in Liber Juramentorum (?)

My interest in these juries was actually triggered by the suggestion that the moars were appointed according to some regular rotation of quarterlands. Prior to 1704 Liber Vast (and consequently Liber Assed) seem to record most but not all land transfers. My hypothesis is that the records were held primarily for the benefit of the land holders (so that they could prove their right) and that in cases of uncontested inheritance sometimes people wouldn't bother to report the transfer. [By comparison deaths which affected the Lords interest due to being lives compounded against seem to have been much more carefully monitored.] If all the preceding is correct then the list of setting quest juries could provide another way of detecting land transfers.
