Re: Thomas Madrel Hastie & (Sara?) Elizabeth Keig

I was wondering if you are related to the Hastie's? Where do you live?

Thomas Madrel Hastie's parents were William Beckwith Hastie and Amelia Woolcock. This was William's second marriage. He was married to Eleanor Smith and had four children with her. At the age of 28 Eleanor died of smallpox (DOD: 16 Dec 1861). A few years later (1864) he married Amelia. My Great Grandfather is William James Hastie, son of William and Eleanor. Just wanted to clarify how I am related (William Beckwith Hastie is my Great Great Grandfather and my Great Grandfather (William James) is a half brother to Thomas Madrel Hastie).

I saw a post by Joan Plessey stating that her Great Grandmother was Maud Hastie, one of William Beckwith and Amelia Hastie's children (Thomas Madrel's sister). So, I am related to her, however, I couldn't find a way to reply to her message. Sounds like she has some interesting family information/pictures and I would like to share with her too. Any suggestions? Also, do you have any information on William Beckwith Hastie. I can't find anything on the middle name Beckwith but would assume that it was a maiden name of one of the women in the family?
