Gelling Sayle Barque Ocean 1827

I am looking for information about the family of Paul Gelling and Catharine Sayle, whom I believe to have been in the Cleveland, Ohio, area, soon after their arrival on the Barque Ocean in 1827. Catharine Gelling, who was, I think, their daughter, married Robert Caley in Cuyahoga County, August 1, 1838, and soon moved to Wisconsin. I have been able to trace the Robert Caley/Catherine Gelling family through the census to Wisconsin, Missouri, and on to Colorado.

I haven’t yet been able to find Paul and Catharine Gelling in the US after their arrival.

The Ocean manifest (see Frances’ Manx Notebook) divides this family group into two parts: Paul Gelling 30 farmer; Paul 3; John 1
Cath Gelling 28; Cath 9; Ellen 7; Mary 5

I believe Catherine Sayle to be the daughter of John Sayle and Catherine Kinley, also on the Ocean, although I didn’t find her in the IGI. She could be a niece, I suppose.

I found the Gelling family in the IGI, although I did not find Catharine

Paul Gelling married Catherine Sayle, at Kk Patrick, October 12, 1817. Their children:

i. Catherine Gelling was botn about 1817
ii. John Gelling was christened at Kk Patrick, January 11, 1818. (Is he the John Gelling buried at Kk Patrick, October 31, 1820?) See Brian Lawson’s burials.
iii. Elinor Gelling was christened at Kk Patrick, October 8, 1820.
iv. Mary Ann Gelling was christened at Kk Patrick, December 8, 1822.
v. John Gelling was christened at Kk Patrick, October 3, 1824.
vi. Paul Gelling was born about 1824 christened at Kk Patrick, April 9, 1826.

Well, a lot of speculation.

It is based on a biography of Catherine and Robert Caley’s son Franklin Caley, who eventually wound up in Littleton Colorado. His mother Catherine is named at “Catherine Gallon”
