Kay: My great grandmother and her younger brother were born in Galveston, TX (b 1854 & 1856). Their parents separated in the mid 1850s and the mother (who was born on the IOM) and the 2 children returned to the IOM. They were christened on the same day in 1865, at the ages of 9 and 11 years respectively.

There would be several reasons why christenings would be delayed - this being only one of them.
