Jean C,
As I hinted to you early 2009 and on Sat. 06th June 2009 you may have guessed right about some things, however "Methodist" NO!
The manx REDHEAD dynasty started with one man heavily involved through previous ancestors marriages with the mother Abbey in Bowness.
Hence he was churchwarden alongside the powerful Churchtown Corletts at Lezayre before the families/his descendants spread around the Isle of Man.
The succeeding generations, at times, used the established Church of England in Andreas, Jurby, Maughold, Braddan, St. Thomas in Douglas, Malew, Arbory and Rushen until the baptism of my Paternal Grandfather at St. Mary's Castletown in 1881. and his subsequent marriage at St Mary's Douglas in 1890.
The initial research was carried out, by me, shortly after his death in 1951.
Peter.
