"Where born" looks much more like Lonan than Douglas though.
**************************************************
In 1861 and 1871 his birth parish is given as Lonan. (1861 transcribed as Myhra)

In 1881 his birth parish is given as Douglas; however, the additional information that he is now blind and has a sick nurse staying in the house might suggest that he perhaps had no input in stating his birth parish (ie was he too ill ?)

John was hard to find in 1841 ---- he turned out to be a 22 yr old book binder in Liverpool:

35 yr old William was probably his brother (he was a saddler)

So this is the most likely baptism for John, and this one did have an older brother, William, of the right age in 1841:

In 1841, Factory Lane, Douglas, there's a Thomas Mylrea, 65 yr old tailor, with Elizabeth 60 (transcribed Myhre) plus others with different surnames in same house. Perhaps these could be John's parents ?
