In the 1900, Don is listed as a brother but I believe that Don is actually a brother-in-law to Robert. Elizabeth Lorton and Don were born in California and are shown together in Ventura County in the 1880 census. Robert Boyd married Elizabeth Lorton in Ventura County, California on 12 Jan 1883.
I think that Robert Boyd is the son of John Boyde and Jane Cretney. There is a baptismal record on microfilm.
Robert Boyd is shown with his parents in in the 1871 Census. I believe that our Robert Boyd is shown arriving in New York aboard the Scythia on 24 Aug 1875. He is with his brother in the 1880 Census.
He moves to Delhi (part of current Santa Ana), Orange, California and lives with and near his brother for a while. The Orange County Archives have deeds for Robert and Daniel as well as the Certificate of Naturalization in 1892. In the early 1900s Robert moved his family to an area know as Harper. He is mentioned in several local histories as the first family to farm in what is current day Costa Mesa. Several history books have pictures of his family.
He is buried in Santa Ana with his wife Elizabeth and near his brother Daniel. He died 6 Sept 1933.

I have photos of him with his family. (My father-in-law is Robert's grandson)
