Thank you Pat for all that info. I went onto those sites but as you say 1911 being the last census is no good to me. We always understood from Arthur that he and William went to Canada together in 1925 but the records you found on Ancestry shows different. I have a subscription to Ancestry but only the UK, not the worldwide one. I have a letter that William wrote from Barford, Sask, Canada dated 1933, to his sister in the IOM. He said the depression was hitting farming bad. I searched those sites hopeing to find a cemetary at Barford. He might perhaps have been buried there. I have searched through my email archives,( mamouth job)and have found an email address for Sandra Mullan. Don't know if it is still current but i will try it. Will keep your offer in mind though, thank you. I looked on Ancestry but couldn't find her. Will look again later. many thanks for your help. Pauline
