Re: Lewis Crellin, Foxdale
In Response To: Re: Lewis Crellin, Foxdale ()

Hi John,

Thank you for your response.

This thread really runs in conjunction with my earlier thread "Teare and Cunliffe" started on the 6th November.

In that I mention the Teare sisters Emma and Lillian, who I had always assumed to be part of my ancestral family, until a few weeks ago when my cousin in Canada said she thought they were not.

Lewis Victor Crellin, b 1901 in Foxdale, featured a lot in my childhood and later visits to Peel, and when, in searching for Lillian (Lily) Teare in the 1911 Census, finding Lewis aged 9 living with the Teares in Foxdale explains a lot. It would seem that his father died in 1902,
From another source I have, I know Lewis was brought up by his grandparents in Ballanass, Foxdale.

This of course still leaves questions.....

Who was Lewis V Crellin's mother?

Are the Teares in Foxdale related to my great grandmother Ellen Teare from Bride?

And of course, Lewis V Crellin's daughter, who I met in Foxdale - I know she married and moved to Douglas - but I thought she would be a good point of contact to answer my questions.

And as a "Teare", where do you fit in?

My email is apttony at aol dot com

Tony
