Just to let you know that Margaret Quirk's father is named as John Quirk on her marriage certificate - and she was married to John Costain in Kirk Rushen, so I think you are right about her parents.

Re the surname Steitch - any ideas on where that comes from? Surnames of the Manx doesn't seem to list it anywhere that I can see.

I ran out of time to follow the Steitch line back, as I concentrated on Costains and Kewishes.

I did get to Margaret and John's grave in Kirk Arbory and now have a photo of it, plus those of two of their daughters in Kirk Rushen. The third should be ther too, but again - ran out of time.

Thanks for your help, and I'll definitely get down to the Steitches soon.
