Re: Bounty immigrants, message 5

Hi Sue , just for other researchers who might be reading this , the bounty scheme went on till the 1860's , and it wasn't only the colony who were bringing out immigrants under the Bounty scheme , it was also NSW landowners , the Immigrants had to sign a contract for a given period if a landowner brought them out .
At the NSW State Archives you can see the original passenger lists FREE , you can search by name index to give the ships name , then find the ship , the details you can download and print .
NSW bmd's are also easy to search , births 1788-1909 , marriages 1788-1959 , deaths 1788-1979 . For example , the IOM family name Clucas , first occurrences are :

Death - 1857 Robert Clucas age 48 , no parents given (?known) (the Robert Clucas on the "Adam Lodge" should be only 40 .)

Birth - 1864 Jane Clucas , to John & Elizabeth.

Marriage male - 1873 John Clucas
Marriage Female - 1882 Jane Clucas ( she is the one born 1864 )

Cheers
