There's a tree on Ancestry which has Eleanor Shimmin's husband, John Christian's burial as German 15th Sept 1818, and this as John's baptism (it's a patron submission):

It states that Thomas Christian was baptised German in 1729, and that Ann Kelly was baptised Peel in 1729. The trees on Ancestry generally need to be treated with a big dose of scepticism, but you never know, this might turn out to be good information. The tree submitter has left an email address in an Ancestry message board posting, so you could make contact and find out whether the information is solid or just wishful thinking.
