Re: Camlork
In Response To: Re: Camlork ()

We went to museum today to search for John Henry Cain/e - 1866 - Braddan. Come out with no real findings.

Someone a while ago suggested John may have been the one born to Robert Cain and Margaret Crowe, but dated 1855 - not in the 1860's like my John.

So we searched and this is what we found in which confused me even more.

John Henry Cain, baptised 30th March 1855.
Father: Robert Cain
Mother: Margaret Crowe
But says John is deceased (1856)

John Cain, baptised 17th May 1853.
Father: Robert Cain
Mother: Margaret Crowe

We were told by member of staff that John Cain was baptised in 1853 then again in 1855 because before he died his parents would've baptised him again, probably knowing he would pass away.

So how come I see him in ancestry as farm labourer like his father Robert in 1881? Can they be different people? Because I can't make it out.

The page in the museum says they lived at Ballakinnish, Braddan when John died, and in 1862, when baby Robert was baptised they lived in The Strang.
