Thanks, Paul. That seems like a big loss to the FHS - to have someone experienced and willing to help with the website but not given access to do so.
Thanks also for your comment about Ian, which I'm sure he will appreciate. He was asked to help with the website by a member of the FHS committee, which he accepted, but it has gone no further.

It isn't just the broken links which need fixing, and the missing records which need reinstating, but Brian's largest file of thousands of names (his personal records of the dozens of families he was researching) has never been returned to the website after being wiped last year. Removing living people could have been done quickly and easily by someone experienced, so that it could be made available again. This is a big loss to online researchers. Almost as large a loss as his fully transcribed IOM censuses 1841-1901 which he offered to put on a members-only section, to attract more people to join the FHS.
