You are looking at an IGI entry submitted by a member of the LDS Church, not an extracted entry from the parish register. So, yes, it could be wrongly transcribed, or even invented to "fit" someone's tree - although that is less likely because the full date has been given.
It also could have been written like that in the parish register.
