The House of Industry still stands. When built it was on the outskirts of Douglas, in the parish of Onchan (formerly Conchan). It is now the Ellan Vannin Nursing Home off Kingswood Grove, quite near to the Manx Museum. It was the Island's Poor House, where the destitute ended up.
