Re: Bride MIs: John+Ann Sayle
In Response To: Re: Bride MIs: John+Ann Sayle ()

Hi Jean C

You will notice the discrepancies in the age of John and Ann. John is 5yrs out and Ann 4yrs between 1841 and 1851 census.
This makes me wonder about Robert, we do have an IGI birth date of 1832 in Bride so he could not be Age 4yrs in 1841. In 1851 a Robert Sayle Age 14 yrs is a Servant for Robert Stowell a Farm Worker from Bride
We do have a Patron submitted entry for a Robert Sayle in 1838 son of John Sayle/Ann Cowle. I can't work this one out.

If age 4yrs as quoted in the 1841 census is correct he can not be the son of Catherine Radcliffe as she died in 1833.

Mary Ann sayle born 1829 was my relation living with John and Ann (Cowle) Sayle age 12yrs in 1841 .In 1851 census she is a Servant Age 21yrs for John/Ann (Mylchreest) Sayle at Ballabane Andreas.By 1861 she was married to Charles Crowe, she died Age 76yrs in 1905 in Bride

Jane Ellen Sayle 1826 was a servant Age 15 yrs for Phillip Teare Keiltustag in 1841 census

William Sayle 1824 was a Labourer for Daniel Teare Ballacregga Bride Age 17 yrs in 1841 census

It looks as if the only way to resolve this problem is a marriage certificate and hope it shows John as a Widower when he married Ann Cowle.
