to Alexandra - As you can see from my message on Mon 21st it was only in 1901 that 2 of the family are in a ref at Douglas. Up til then it had been Rushen. Well, Ann (nee Watterson) did actually have 6 chn. The oldest boy William she had before she was married so he took the name Watterson & his chn took the W surname. When she married John Kinvig she had Herbert born/ or registered in May 1880 who died in 1918 in WW1 aged 38. He was married. Then came Robena born in June 1885 who died & was cremated in 1970. Robena was my grandmother. Then came Annie Elizabeth or Bessie as she was known. She married my Uncle Bob & they had 1 son & lived in a long bungalow on Victoria Road Castletown, which son Ian then took over. The next in the family was John reg in 1887. I don't remember him. Then came Frances reg in Castletown 1890 but she died aged 1 year. Ann died in 1909 aged 52 when your John Herbert must have been about 13 so maybe Bessie looked after him then . I've looked up Mill St on the C'town map & I recognize it but it is only a little narrow st. I have no idea how you send a photo via email. Maybe my son will know. Have you been onto isle of man geneology & looked at all the census there - there is a lot of info & all free & easy to access? K
