Manx Genealogy

Thomas Yates Cordiner

I have been researching my family tree for a number of years. One of my ancestors, Richard Cordiner MRCS LRCP was born in Yorkshire in 1858, but moved to the Isle of man. He was a surgeon at Nobles Hospital during the first world war. He was married to Frances (nee Charles) who was born in 1858 in Ringshall, Suffolk. They had seven children including Theodore George Cordiner b1896, thomas Yates Cordiner b1898, and Francis Gilbert Cordiner b1892. Francis I know was a golfer at Castletown golf club and won the Manx amateur golf championship in 1926. Thodore was killed in the war in 1916 and has no known grave. Richard and his wife Frances are buried in the churchyard at Thwing, which is where he was born. Thomas was in the RAF in the war and was decorated for his bravery, taking part in an historic flight from France to Egypt in 1919. After the war he continued to live on the Isle of Man and was a competitor in the TT races in 1924, 1925, and 1926. I do not know what happened to him after that, other than he married Ada Broadbent in Paddington in 1934. I would be grateful if anyone has any information about him, or his family, as I believe he lived into his 80's.
