Re: John Quirks of Patrick 1840's--1860's or so

Hello Donna, from Nelson Bay NSW Australia.
My post of Friday 21st May was probably off-page when you put this up and although I was not after a John QUIRK at this point, I am most interested in understanding QUIRK family distribution generally.
I obtained info from then Quirk One Name group that brought me up to point where the family moved into Knockaloe Farm and this was followed by a house of Keys "barnie" and a break up, with many of the males moving with or without family to Liverpool. They were then in ship building until timber overtaken by steel and further changes leading to a return of my Robert to IOM and work as a farmer at Ballaquane, 1851 .... hence the post.
Earliest listing of "our" Quirks show a John with a Margaret Leece or Lace in the 1670's, then to the first Philip abt 1700 who marries a Margaret Kelly.
Their son Philip who matches first with Mary Parr is shown at a location Ballavargher (eldest son a John b.1752) and wife 2nd Christian Duggan also in Ballavagher m.1787 ... this is Philip that set up shipyard in Liverpool it appears.
William Q b.1769 was their son who led on to me after m.1781 to Jane Ellison .. children inc John Ellison Q b.1812 but he died 1833.
Shipbuilding business failed, William became brewer then he died same year as son John and it appears Robert b.1819 was financially stressed after that, returning to the IOM working with HERD family CornMerchants but again leading to court bankrupt.
I am keen to learn of any other details of these Quirk's who also link with two other men in the line who ended up in OZ seeking a new life .... although our guy deserted his ailing wife to do so and created a second line before the first was finished so to speak with a daughter born in Liverpool to a Margaret Roberton.
Any thoughts you may have on the Knockaloe Quirk's as in the Manx Notebook or likely connections greatly appreciated also word images of life in Peel and/or the Patrick villages would help my understanding.
