if you use post response to an existing message it keeps all the related posts together rather than scattering them around the board
Captain in a Manx context seldom means a naval captain - usually a captain of the parish (ie in charge of local militia), or captain of mines (ie in charge of group of miners etc) or captain in Army - the strict term for one in charge of a civilian vessel is master and you will usually see this employed in 18th wills etc - captain in a sea-going sense should be reserved for the person in charge of a naval ship but by mid 19th C it had spread to the civilian world
