Hi Elaine , these Demeza's are not on my wife's direct line , but there is absolutely no doubt that they go back to Soloman Demeza (b London 1713) and Ann Hale (b 1715 London) . There has been a family tradition of including Ann's maiden name of Hale , as a second given name . Although I have no knowledge of any Demezas in Canada , some grandchildren of Annie Demeza (b 1837 Manchester ) ended up in Canada but with surname of Pickard .
