In Response To: Re: mitchell connetions ()

hi, maureen, many thanks for the time you have taken to look this up.it must be the christina i was looking for, as i have her in the 1911 census age 9. born douglas isle of man. there is no mona on there, so it may be she is the one at braddan cemetery, and my g.father peter mitchell did call a daughter, called mona who lived to adulthood. but as you will know lots of people called a child the same name as one who had died. as to the isle of man connetion, yes they did move there at sometime in the 1900s, but were living in ulveston lancs around 1906, then barrow in furness by 1911. peter mitchell was a hawker/dealer. who moved around quite a bit, and i belive two of his daughters moved back to the island when married, dont know the marriage names? it may be christina and her sister. there is some info that could jog someones memory, my father robert mitchell born barrow 1925, said his aunts had a b&b or small hotel on isle of man. i have a photo of peter my g.g.father taken in douglas around 1903, it was that link that brought me to this site, as with all these sites i have been thankful for all the help and time given. and as you said someone may find somthing else about my family connetions with your island. many thanks once again maureen. bob mitchell....
