Re: Henry Callister - early emigrant to America

The Callister Ferry Landing is on the upper Chester River in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. There is a small bridge over the river and a causeway. The Callister house is long gone, and a small village (Crumpton) sits on the grounds of the original plantation. Callister probably built a house down river about a mile near Pearl Creek, and his descendants still live in the area, although most of the local history has been forgotten - they probably have no idea who he even was, which is a shame; he wrote some wonderful letters about colonial life in this area, an place which has changed very little in the past 300 years.
