A message for anyone researching Keig family of Rushen. Walter Keig was brought up as Walter Gale. Walter Gale b. 1887 arrived in Sydney 1912. He was a member of the Queensland Manx Society in 1915. Walter Gale enlisted in the A.I.F. in 1915 and was presented with a watch by Q.M.S. prior to going overseas. Sometime between 1915 and 1923 Walter Gale found out that he was born Walter Keig. Walter Keig was President of the Q.M.S. 1936-37 and Vice-President 1937-38.
I believe Walter's parents to be Thomas Keig and Emily Clark m. 9th Feb 1882 Kirk Rushen.
