Hello John,
After looking at some of your "Previously Unlinked" wills, it might be helpful if I explain that Brian compiled the indexes from the (mainly) handwritten ones for Arch and Epis (in MM) seen by him on LDS film, and did this before he saw most of the wills themselves. The spelling in these indexes and for the "defuncts" frequently varies from what was written in the actual will, and you are ending up inserting double index entries minus important details like court and number.
For example, you now have two index entries for the same will: LOWNE, John 1699 Braddan 0991715. The original one is at: LEWN, John 1699-2 Bra E w 0991715.

This entry you have added doesn't exist: CORTEEN, Robert 1775 Lezayre MNH.
It has an obvious typo in the attachment with 1775 instead of 1755 (he died in 1754). See: lawsonsiom.freevar.com/wills/1755_026.html

In the Le MAITRE - LYSTER section you now have two index entries for LOONE, John 1637 Onchan 0106197 - the new one, indexed with LOONEY to which you’ve attached John's will transcript, plus the original *LOONE, John 1637 Onchan A 24 0106197 [indexed with LEWIN] which has the full index details but attaches to the will of William Loeney, 1637.
William's index entry *LOONEY, William 1637 Lon A 16 0106197 contains the will of Finloe LOWNY.
LOWEY, Phinlo 1637 Pat A w 0106197 needs his will attached and his name in the index changed to LOWNY.
I sent you an email about these ones in Sept.2008, along with Joyce's transcript for John which had dropped off.

You have BREW, Easter 1783 Jur ? A 36 010628 as Previously Unlinked, but it is there: www.iomfhs.im/lawsons/twill/1783_015.html
In your new entry you have changed Brian's Jur? to Lezayre, which is wrong! Please don’t change his index details unless there is a different parish written at the top of the will. The will would have been under Jurby in the index, but as this was an Andreas family he added “?” which I was quite happy to accept for this (my) transcript. Just because there was a “Chapter Court holden at Lezayre” it doesn’t make it a Lezayre will. There were often attached court details from various places.
Please return it to either Jur ? or And.

Grace Caine als Killey 1804 has two different LDS film numbers for the same 1804 will, which isn’t possible.
CAINE, Grace 1804 Mic KILLEY A 47 0106235 is the correct LDS number.

Averil has updated these wills: Edmond Corkle 1671; Margaret Corkle 1670 (see Ian’s website). Please don’t add SAYLE to Brian’s index entry. The will does NOT have als Sayle, and having a son with the surname Sayle (as Brian would say) does not mean that she was ever Sayle and it shouldn’t be guessed. Please don’t change/add to his index entries unless you have personally checked the original index and found an error in his transcript, or unless the submitter says the surname spelling differs from the index. Brian would only add an extra surname to the index if the will had, for example, “als Sayle” or “otherwise Sayle” specifically for her name. Someone’s family history research could be badly affected if they assume that an added surname is an accurate copy of a public record, when it is not.
If you have added any others would you please remove them.

You do not have a submitter for MAC LEECE, Thomas 1694 German 0106206. It was from Joyce M Oates and is an Arch will.
