Hi, can anyone advise me on looking for presentments for illegitiment births. We have a Margaret Morrison brn 1840,illegitimate dau of Margaret Morrison chr 29 Nov 1807 at Maughold. Margaret born 1840 had six illegitimate children all reg at Ramsey.Our line is through her dau Ada Jane chri 7 July 1872. On the 1881 census RG11 5600 /121 page 17. Margaret Morrison gives her occupation as charwoman. It is iteresting that both her and her mother state on the census that they are widows?. Three of her children are with her including Ada Jane Morrison age 8. Ada Jane married John William Garrett 13 June 1894 at St. Pauls Ramsey,and gave her surname as Kissack, father John Kissack,occupation gardener, on her Marriage certificate. We know that Ada Garrett (nee Kissack/Morrison) was left some money in the will of John Cowley, of i believe Ramsey, around 1947. She had died in 1946 so the money went to her children. I have not been able to find this will as yet. I would be grateful for Any advice or infomation. Thank you Pauline Johns.
