Very many thanks indeed. Catherine Jane Quayle, daughter of Robert and Matilda, was baptised at St Mary's Castletown in December 1844. Robert Hilliard Smith (my g g grandfather), baptised at St Mary's in 1834, was Matilda's son by John Smith. The information that John was a lieutenant in the army will greatly assist to find out more about him.
