Your mention of a Robert CORLETT who sailed with both the Royal Navy and the Merchant Navy caught my interest. My Great Grandfather was a seaman named Corlett from the Isle of Man. I do not know his given name, but have been told by older family members that it was "Robert". He married an Ann GORMAN, and they were my Grandmother's parents. Their offspring were Mary Jane CORLETT (my Grandmother born ca. 1865), Anna Teresa CORLETT, (her sister) and a son, whose name I do not know, and who reportedly died of TB with his mother, Ann Gorman CORLETT.
On their mother's death, and because their father was at sea, Mary Jane CORLETT and Anna Teresa CORLETT were raised by relatives named Gorman. Both daughters emigrated to North America, Mary Jane as a married woman, married name 'Burke', from Londonderry and Teresa Ann before 1900.
If by chance you have anything in your CORLETT data which could be connected with any of this information, I would be most grateful.
