Just been looking through the Shimmins-William Shimmin miner 1840 seems to match my Great Great Grandfather's children's names. My Great grandmother was Annie Shimmin 1873 German her younger brother was Joseph Stanley Shimmin who drowned 1906. Have some more info- her father did go to America with some of his older sons but I got told by My Auntie Annie Shimmins daughter, that he came back to the Island and re married as his first wife Elizabeth Caine had died some time before. My grandmother Hilda Cubbon (Clucas) was in contact with her Aunts & Uncles cousins in Leadsville Calrodo up till she died 1955.
If anyone has any more info re this family that would be great.
