Houses in Laxey, Lonan, were originally known by name rather than street number. I spent years trying to locate Lilac Cottage, Minorca, until someone on the spot asked the postman! He knew exactly where all the cottages were by their old names, and I now have a photo and a map. There don't seem to be any street numbers, just names: Willow Cottage, Quarry Cottage, Sandhurst Cottage, The Hollies, Primrose Cottage. These are near Laxey Primary School.
