Re: Australian Records

OK, thanks Frances!

For anyone researching people from Isle of Man who ended up in Australia, I thought I'd put some website addresses on here that may be of assistance.

Australian BDM websites:

www.bdm.nsw.gov.au
For all New South Wales BDM 1788 - 1909

online.justice.vic.gov.au
For all Victorian BDM, great website as it has an online shop where you can search, view and purchase records via credit card and download them immeadiately

www.bdm.dotag.wa.gov.au
For all Western Australia BDM

www.justice.qld.gov.au
For all Queensland BDM

www.justice.tas.gov.au
No records online, however they will do a search for you for a fee and this website has the contact details

South Australia and the Northern Territory has no online records unfortunately

www.prov.vic.gov.au
Public Record Office Victoria, have a range of records eg Assisted and Unassisted Immigration

www.records.nsw.gov.au
Have assorted records for immigration, convict registers etc

www.transcriptions.com.au
Marilyn Rowan's website, they do a great job transcribing records for alot less cost than ordering official copies and can email the transcription rather than posting it.

Hope these websites are of some use to anyone researching Australian connections.

Regards,
Kim
