I am trying to trace John Chesterman who lived in Arbory Street, Castletown. I know he born in 1793/1796ish and moved to IOM from UK. I cannot trace him before he went to IOM and do not know why he went to IOM? I know he married Sophia Christian and their children I have records of. Does anyone else know where he originally came from? Does anyone know where he is buried? I am hoping to visit IOM this year (2010) and would like to visit the graves of John and Sophia if possible.
Any information would be really helpful and appreciated.
Also ... is there anywhere to stay for a few days in Castletown?? Can't find anything on the net.
