Yes, William Oates was first married to Mary Simmons/Symond mother of Mary Hannah.

After Mary died, he married Christian Killip.

The Killip children in the 1881 census are of John Killip and Eunice Gawne who md 25 JUL 1861 Braddan
Eunice was buried KILLIP, Eunice 30 Onc 5 Mar 1873 residence Cronk ny Mona
John was buried KILLIP, John 46 Onc 23 Jan 1876 residence Cronk ny Mona
He seems to have been ch 4 Jan 1829 Onchan s/o James Killip and Ann Christian who md 10 JUL 1821 Braddan
They had Christian ch 9 Oct 1831 Braddan so Christian Killip Oates seems to have been paternal aunt of the Killip children.

In ever loving memory of JOHN KILIP master joiner of this Parish grandson of THOMAS CHRISTIAN Esq of Slegaby died 19th January 1876 aged 46 years
Also Eunice wife of the above died 2nd March 1873
aged 30 years

Maternal gmo, Ann Christian apparently was the d/o THOMAS CHRISTIAN Esq of Slegaby
Perhaps a Christian researcher can help with this connection.
