Manx Genealogy

KNIPE

Hi! Has anybody come across any KNIPEs during their Manx Genealogy? I have a total brick wall with my g/g/g/grandfather- a Thomas KNIPE. I have his marriage [1815 Plumbland] and his death [1842 Maryport] and have just picked up a LDS Thomas KNIPE christening 8 Dec 1776 Andreas I of M. While surfing I also found a KNIPE who was involved in trading in/with the I of M. Is it far fetched to think that people living on the I of M might have "emmigrated" from the mainland- as in Lancs and Cumberland and then later generations "immigrated" back? Any help greatfully accepted.
