According to IOM Victorian Soc. May 2009 magazine---
Richard Cain of COSTAINS was born 1839, son of Richard
Costain & Elizabeth nee Redhead. They lived at Croit-e-Caley.
In the 1851census his father was a fisherman & Richard Jun. a 12 year old scholar. Richard emigrated to Liverpool
to find work as a timeserved Journeyman Joiner age 26.
He returned to IOM next year to marry Margaret Kneen.
They returned to Liverpool to live & the partnership
Costain & Kneen built terrace after terrace of houses.
Richard Kneen was Margaret's brother.
