Cavendish Family

Hi, I seem to be going all around the world with this family but Isle of Man seems to have been where at least two of the people I am trying to discover information about settled.
Briefly... George Augustus Cavendish born c1805, not sure where married Adeline Eleanora Gerald 23.08.1825 St Martin in the Fields, Westminster, London. They had as far as I can see 9 children, the oldest George Ponsonby Cavendish (related to my friend whom I am trying to do the family tree for) and the youngest, Augusta Adeline Mary Cavendish (b: 1846 baptised: 18.02.1849 St Philip the Apostle, Stepney, London). The family are in 1841 census living in Portman Place, Marylebone. On 23.04.1849 the family, apart from George Ponsonby Cavendish arrive in New Orleans. They are in the 1850 US Census. By the 1860 US Census there are only listed Adeline Cavendish, 57, Boarding House (keeper I presume), Augusta -13, son Henry and his wife Louisa with a couple of possible nephews and a niece.
I find a record of Adeline Cavendish, apartments, Quarry Bank Cottage, Onchon, Isle of Man in a directory of 1863. I also find a burial record courtesy of this site for Adeline E Cavendish, 64, of Onchan Village, Isle of Man - 01.07.1867. In 1871 Census, Augusta is a governess for a John James Gell on Isle of Man. Adeline's daughter, Augusta Adeline Mary Cavendish marries Francis Edward Harrison 28.10.1872 and has three children: Francis Henry bapt: 14.09.1873 Ballaugh, Elizabeth Henrietta 1874/5, Augusta Adeline 1876/7 - I cannot find baptism records for the last two.

By 1881 Census Augusta is a widow but listed as a "Annuitant" and has a servant so presumably her husband had money too as not sure what his occupation was, I cannot find a baptism for him either so do not have a clue if he was born on Isle of Man.

If anyone can help in providing any information on the above or indeed knows why Adeline came to the Isle of Man with Augusta (not sure if any of the other family were with her) I would be more than grateful. I feel sure this Cavendish family are somehow related to the Devonshires but just not sure how at this moment in time.

Thanks

Vicky
