Full age in England & Wales was 21 years until 01 /
01 / 1970. As I knew to my cost I was a student in England earlier than that & was in no doubt I was
a minor & in the care of my college Principal. My
parents had to give written permission for my enrolment
& would have been summonsed if needbe. Jemima was
marrying in another parish to the one where she was
baptised & the Vicar would not have access to her record. Baptism in CE was normally at 6weeks after
Churching of Mother so that she could attend.
