Re: clucas family

Hi Mat,

I think Jeremiah Daniel is in the 1871 Isle of Man census as "Daniel".
They are in Patrick at Clucas Cottage, Rhealy No.4?
Robert Clucas, Hd, marr, 44, Miner in Lead Mine b.Marown, Margreat Clucas, wife, 43, Miners wife, b. Marown, and their children Joseph Clucas 9, scholar, James Clucas 8 scholar, Margreat Clucas 6 scholar, Daniel Clucas 4 scholar, Moses Clucas 1, all b. Patrick.

Moses Henry bapt 12 Sept 1869 Patrick, son of Robert Clucas & Margaret.
Same parents for:
Jeremiah bapt 26 Aug.1866 Patrick
Margaret Jane bapt 12 June 1864 Patrick
James bapt 14 Dec 1862 Patrick
Joseph bapt 26 May 1861 Patrick [IGI]

Could they have married as early as 25 Sept 1847 Marown, without having older children?
There was an Eliza bapt 10 Dec.1848 Marown with parents Robert Clucas & Margaret Lace, but then the gap.

In the 1881 census (on FamilySearch) they were in Patrick, at Ballamore.
Film 1342344, PRO Ref RG11, Piece / Folio 5596 / 51 p. 9:
Robert CLUCAS Head M Male 54 b.Marown, Isle of Man, General Labour
Margaret CLUCAS Wife M Female 39 b.Marown, Isle of Man
Margt. J. CLUCAS Daur U Female 16 b.Patrick, Isle of Man
Moses H. CLUCAS Son U Male 10 b. Patrick, Isle of Man.

If you buy Jeremiah's death cert in NZ, seeing that you have the year, it should show you how long he had been in NZ which would help in locating his arrival date.
