Re: Evan CORKILL, Elizabeth QUAYLE, m1852

Hi again. Just like to add to this thread about Evan / Ewan's second marriage.

From memory, Evan remarried in 1876 in Liverpool to another Elizabeth. She was Elizabeth UPTON, prob. born 1837, and she was from St. Asaph, Wales.

She was ~10 yrs. older than her husband, and I don't believe they had any children.

I don't have any further information on "this" Mrs. Elizabeth CORKILL. I have not researched her.

One note is that Evan and Elizabeth (QUAYLE) had 7 children. Their son, Lewis, died as a child. This Elizabeth died ~1872/73. Their son, Edward, migrated to Canada in 1873. Their 5 youngest children were "shipped to Canada" in 1874 and 1875.

I have not been able to find out if the 6 CORKILL children in Canada had any further contact with their father back in Liverpool. He was alive for maybe 20 years after they left.

And, I do not know if the children knew that their father had remarried.

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

P.S. I have found descendants of 2 of the CORKILL children, but they do not have any information on Evan back in Liverpool. The daughter, Mary CORKILL, was my great-grandmother.
