Matthias CALLOW, a shoemaker, married Margaret GELLING 14 Dec 1819 at Onchan. Margaret was a Lonan girl and is the sister of my g-g-grandfather William GELLING. They had 9 children, the first 8 of whom were born in the IOM and the 9th in Liverpool. Thus, they must have moved ca 1839-40. Matthias's death index is in Sept 1877 age 80 in the Warrington District. His wife Margaret died 4 Dec 1873 in Liverpool.

On Dec 3 2006 I started writing a series of notes on my Lonan Gelling family in this BB, including one on Matthias & Margaret. Do a search on this site for "Gelling of Lonan". Also do a search for "Matthias Callow", as we discovered more information later on. You should find lots of useful information here.

I'd be interested in learning more about how you relate, as I'm trying to build a family tree on descendants of the Lonan Gellings.
