Robert and Esther Brew apparently both died 1860-1870. Their two youngest daughters were raised by Esther's sisters. (The oldest children have not yet been located.)

Robert Brew was born in the Isle of Man, about 1815. He is possibly the Robert Brew of Cleveland, age 53, formerly of Painesville, who died in Cleveland, December 18, 1863, obituary Telegraph, December 24, 1863, p. 3.

Robert married, in Lake County, Ohio, October 26, 1847, Esther Crow, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Crellin) Crow, baptized at Jurby, May 31, 1826.

Robert Brew signed a declaration to become an American citizen on March 19, 1844, and received his citizenship March 25, 1846.
