Robert and Esther Brew apparently both died 1860-1870. Their two youngest daughters were raised by Esther's sisters. (The oldest children have not yet been located.)

Robert Brew was born in the Isle of Man, about 1815. He is possibly the Robert Brew of Cleveland, age 53, formerly of Painesville, who died in Cleveland, December 18, 1863, obituary Telegraph, December 24, 1863, p. 3.

Robert married, in Lake County, Ohio, October 26, 1847, Esther Crow, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Crellin) Crow, baptized at Jurby, May 31, 1826.

Robert Brew signed a declaration to become an American citizen on March 19, 1844, and received his citizenship March 25, 1846.

Robert and Esther Brew lived in Painesville.

1850 Painesville census: # 262: Robert Brew 35 moulder IOM; Esther 24 IOM; Rosalie 6/12 Ohio.

1860 Painesville village census # 1474: Robt Brew 47 furnace man IOM; Esta 30 IOM; Alice 10 Ohio; Jane 5 Ohio.

Children of Esther Crow and Robert Brew: born in Ohio

i. Rosalie Brew was born about 1850. (Same child as Alice in 1860 census?)

ii. Jane Brew was born about 1855.

iii. Flora Brew was born about 1861. In 1870 and 1880, she is living in Avon, Ohio, with her aunt, Catharine Stickney. 1870 Avon census # 313: Solomon Stickney 47 farmer Ohio; Catharin 44 IOM; Samuel 18 Ohio; Clara J. 6 Ohio; Flora Brew 9 Ohio.

iv. Clara Brew was born about 1862. In 1870 she is living in Cleveland, with her aunt, Ann McKee. 1870 Cleveland 5 th ward census # 1257: Ann McKee 40; James 18 works in printing office; Laura 18 at hair dressing; Charles 12; Clara Brue 8.
