Are you able to give some dates eg birth date of your grandfather Alexander Gelling for instance..... was he born in Isle of Man or in England/Cumbria?

I found an Alexander John Gelling born in Douglas, IOM in 1866 but this may be too early for your grandfather, but he maybe a connection.
